Student Visitor - This visa is generally used for courses under 6 months. You should already be accepted on a course prior your visit and have enough funds (money) to maintain yourself. You must be over 18 years old. This visa does not give a right to work in the United Kingdom and cannot be extended or switched into another category.

Student Visa - This visa is generally used for courses over 6 months. You should be over 16 years old and should already be accepted on a course prior to making your application and have enough funds (money) to maintain yourself. This visa usually issued for the duration of the whole course but no more than 4 years at a time. You will have a right to work 20 hours per week. This visa can be extended whilst in the United Kingdom. You can bring your spouse or partner and children under 18 with you if the duration of the course is over 1 year.

Post Study Work Visa - This visa is aimed at foreign students who recently graduated from a university in the United Kingdom and would like to remain in the United Kingdom to start their career or just get some work experience. This visa is issued for 2 years during which time you can freely leave and enter the country and look for a job. Once you found a job you can easily switch to a work permit.
