This visa is for nationals wishing to come to the UK on business for up to six months and carry out activities including the following:

In order to be granted a business visa the applicant must show they only want to visit the United Kingdom for up to six months and plan to leave at the end of their visit. They should also show they have enough money to support themselves during their stay and are based abroad. This visa does not give a right to work in the United Kingdom and cannot be extended or switched into another category.

This category is for a company based overseas that would like to open a new branch or subsidiary in the UK. The company should be well established overseas for at least one year and the idea is that that its first employee, or "sole representative", would be the person representing that company in the UK. The application form should be supported by a detailed business plan outlining the reasons for expansion into the UK and a detailed job description of duties of that Sole Representative and cash financial statements showing the is capital allocated for this expansion.
The Sole Representative should be a senior employee of your company recruited outside the UK. Ideally they should have been employed by you for some time and be fully aware of your business processes and procedures. If the person has been hired specifically to fulfill the role you should show that they have relevant previous working experience. They should not have a significant or major shareholding.
This visa is usually issued for 2 years, then extended for another 3 years. The Sole Representative can then apply for permanent residence in the UK (ILR) followed by citizenship. He/she can bring your spouse or partner and children under 18 with them.

Turkish nationals who are already in the UK can remain the country to set up and run a business or businesses or be self-employed under separate category called Turkish Businessperson.
This category is a result of Turkish - European Community Association Agreement (Turkish ECAA) about Turkish nationals who are already in this country and wish to take up self-employment or are already self-employed and are seeking further leave to remain have a right to freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services.
In order to apply under this category you should:
" have a genuine intention to establish a business in the UK;
" provide a detailed breakdown of set-up costs of the intended business in the UK
" possess sufficient funds to establish and run the business.
Once you have been issued a visa or a grant of leave to remain you can reside in the UK for 12 months. At the end of your first 12 months you may apply for your visa to be extended. The maximum period this visa can be extended is 3 years. After a total of 4 years in the UK you may be eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or permanent residency followed by British citizenship. Dependants of those seeking indefinite leave to remain are also entitled to have their applications considered.
